Opening of session. The Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families (CMW) is the body of independent experts that works to protect the rights of the millions of migrant workers around the world. Migrant workers and their families often experience marginalization, xenophobia, and poor living and working conditions. In serious cases, they suffer exploitation, expulsion, and risk to life. The Committee monitors how States are implementing the Convention and protecting the human rights of migrants. NB: The webcast of the opening session will be in two parts. From 10:00 until 10:30CEST part-1. There will be a one-hour private meeting. Webcast will resume at 11:30 until 13:00CEST for part-2.  The President of the General Assembly will convene the second International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) from 5 to 8 May 2026. The Forum serves as the primary intergovernmental global platform for Member States to discuss and share progress on the implementation of all aspects of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, including as it relates to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and with the participation of all relevant stakeholders.
