The President of the General Assembly will convene the second International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) from 5 to 8 May 2026. The Forum serves as the primary intergovernmental global platform for Member States to discuss and share progress on the implementation of all aspects of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, including as it relates to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and with the participation of all relevant stakeholders. General debate (continued) The Plenary brings together Member States and stakeholders to deliver official national and institutional statements during the IMRF. These interventions provide an opportunity to reflect on progress in implementing the GCM, share priorities and commitments, and outline concrete actions moving forward. Proclamation of December 18th as International Migrants Day.

The United Nations General Assembly , have taking into account of the large and increasing number of migrants in the world, proclaimed 18 December as International Migrants Day ( Resolution A/RES/55/93) ) on 4 December 2000. On that day, in 1990, the Assembly adopted the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families .
